Forklift Fuel System - The fuel systems job is to provide your engine with the gasoline or diesel it needs so as to run. If whatever of the fuel system components breaks down, your engine will not run right. There are the main components of the fuel system listed under:
Fuel Tank: The fuel tank is a holding cell meant for your fuel. When filling up at a gas station, the fuel travels down the gas hose and into your tank. In the tank there is a sending unit. This is what tells the gas gauge the amount of gas is within the tank.
Fuel Pump: In nearly all newer cars, the fuel pump is usually placed in the fuel tank. Various older vehicles have the fuel pump attached to the engine or positioned on the frame rail between the tank and the engine. If the pump is inside the tank or on the frame rail, then it is electric and works with electricity from your cars' battery, whereas fuel pumps that are mounted to the engine utilize the motion of the engine in order to pump the fuel.
Fuel Filter: Clean fuel is very important for overall engine life and engine performance. Fuel injectors have tiny openings which could clog very easily. Filtering the fuel is the only way this could be prevented. Filters can be found either after or before the fuel pump and in several instances both places.
Fuel Injectors: Most domestic cars after 1986, together with earlier foreign cars came from the factory with fuel injection. Instead of a carburetor to do the task of mixing the air and the fuel, a computer controls when the fuel injectors open to be able to allow fuel into the engine. This has resulted in lower emission overall and better fuel economy. The fuel injector is essentially a tiny electric valve which closes opens with an electric signal. By injecting the fuel close to the cylinder head, the fuel stays atomized, or inside tiny particles, and can burn better when ignited by the spark plug.
Carburetors: Carburetors have the task of taking the fuel and mixing it with the air without whatever involvement from a computer. Carburetors require frequent tuning and rebuilding although they are simple to work. This is among the main reasons the newer vehicles accessible on the market have done away with carburetors instead of fuel injection.
